I have read all the comments on the latest changes in the Disciplinary
procedure. However, as someone who has unfortuantely been dismissed with no
procedures being followed or policies from the staff handbook being followed, it
makes a mockery of the whole system. I had only been in post for 9 months and
therefore, seem to have no emplyee rights. My chances have been greatly reduced
in obtaining another job as I will have to state reason for leaving job as,
"was dismissed" which will not look good on my CV! The only reasons for
my dismissal were given as, "it's not working" and I was given little
opportunity to improve, no additional training, no right to be represented and
no right of appeal. I am the third person that the manager has dismissed in the
last 18 months. I think it is "she" who is the problem, but
unfortuantely, seems to be unstoppable in her human resources or rather lack of

avatar you may have a claim for notice monies or holiday pay, there is automatic unfair
dismissal but they would depend upon why you were dismissed

I have heard by hearsay that the company i work for are going to be just sending
people home when they are overstaffed. This is not in my contract. The new
owners bought the company two years ago and seem to be making small changes
although this is a big change as i cannot afford to just be sent home. Can they
get me to sign? What could happen if i don't sign? This is worring me a lot.

My son has been off sick and we attended a meeting at the request of his
employer today. They informed him that he had been seen out of the house on
numerous occasions. He explained that he takes the kids to school and goes back
for them. Transpires that he has had a private detective following him and
sitting outside his house. They are trying to use that fact as part of a gross
misconduct claim as a breach of honesty. Is this normal???

If a company is proposing to vary your contract and it is rejected by the work
force, the company then go on to impose new terms and conditions by means of an
option form.Option A.Accept the new contract.Option B.Leave the company.It also
went on to state that if you left it would not be by reason of redundancy. Is
this legal?
