Stupidly I ended an email of complaint to my Indian boss with ... "is this because I'm white?"

Question, is asking someone if there racist, racist?

discrimination works both ways in my book!

not sure what you did or they did in the first place, but you can bet your bottom dollar if the tables where turned then the remark would be took much much more seriously, and with full avengance behind who ever said it.

My Gross Misconduct hearing (for discrimination) is tomorrow. And I'm really not sure if my comment was in-fact discriminatory.

If it is - I'd really, really like to know before then.

If I'd said something about my Boss's skin colour - sure - I can see that.

I don't really see how it is racist on your part - you seem to be alleging that they are racist towards you. They then have to answer that.

Richard,

This all depends on what he did or say to you.

If he did not give you a raise or did not give you that position that you wanted and gave it to someone else, then I don't think it is because of your race or your skin color.

If he verbally told you something that has offended you then make sure that you know the law and that you seek some help from a labor lawyer or something like that.
